China RoHS Testing for Eye-Protection Desk Lamps
Testing Overview
Eye-protection desk lamps are classified as electrical and electronic products. They must comply with the GB 26572 standard, which regulates 10 hazardous substances: lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)), polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), DEHP, BBP, DBP, and DIBP.
The desk lamp is broken down into its constituent homogeneous materials—such as the PCB, wiring, plastic housing, power adapter, metal stand, LED board, and insulating tape—which are then tested individually.
Optional services include China’s voluntary RoHS certification and the filing of a RoHS self-declaration.
Required Documentation
You will need to provide a test request form, product model information, a Bill of Materials (BOM), and product photographs, with the material of each component specified. Please submit a complete, mass-produced unit as a sample. Note that different PCBs, plastic housings, or power supply designs require separate testing; a single report cannot cover different configurations.
The Process
1. Requirement confirmation: Review the component list and finalize the testing plan.
2. Submission: Provide the required documentation and send the sample(s).
3. Sample receipt and disassembly: The laboratory breaks the product down into its individual homogeneous materials.
4. Testing: Initial screening via XRF, followed by precise chemical analysis in accordance with the GB/T 39560 series of standards.
5. Data review and internal audit.
6. Issuance: If the product passes, a CNAS-accredited China RoHS test report is issued. If it fails, the specific non-compliant areas are identified; the materials must be replaced, and the product re-tested.
At Deesev, the standard turnaround time is 5–7 business days (re-testing may require additional time).
Report Usage and Important Notes
The report can be used for listing products on domestic e-commerce platforms, undergoing client factory audits, or responding to market surveillance inspections. It also serves as supporting documentation for a RoHS self-declaration.
If there are any changes to the materials used—such as the power supply, plastic raw materials, solder, or wiring—the product must be re-submitted for testing. The test report is valid only for the specific sample(s) submitted.
