The State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of China have officially released the new versions of the national standards—the GB6675 series (GB6675.1-2025 through GB6675.4-2025). These standards will come into effect on November 1, 2026.

GB6675 is China's mandatory national standard for toy safety, officially titled "National Safety Technical Code for Toys." This standard applies to all toy products designed or intended for use by children under the age of 14, aiming to comprehensively safeguard children's health and safety during play. Due to potential hazards associated with certain toys, many countries have established toy safety standards to protect children and prevent or minimize injuries during play. GB6675 constitutes my country's mandatory technical requirements for toy safety and was first issued by the Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China on August 13, 1986. These standards specify requirements regarding mechanical and physical properties, flammability, chemical and electrical properties, hygiene, radioactivity, labeling, implementation and supervision, legal liability, and specific product requirements.

Applicable Scenarios for Deesev Test Reports

I. What does the Chinese GB6675 test cover?

1. GB6675-1: General Requirements

• Outlines basic safety requirements, such as electrical safety, hygiene, and radiation aspects.

• Adds specific requirements for six types of plasticizers.

2. GB6675-2: Physical and Mechanical Properties

• Adds new specifications regarding the prevention of hearing damage.

• Added specific requirements regarding magnets and magnetic components to prevent injuries caused by children accidentally swallowing magnetic parts or materials.

3. GB 6675-3 Flammability: Revised specific regulations concerning the dimensions and test methods for stuffed toys.

• Added regulations regarding the flammability of molded masks (in whole or in part) and the flammability of loose hanging elements on head-worn toys, specifically setting requirements for their burning rate.

4. GB 6675-4 (Migration of certain elements): Expanded the scope of migratable hazardous substances, as detailed below:

• Applies to all toys intended for children under 72 months of age.

• Applies to all toys intended for food contact or mouth contact, cosmetic toys, and writing instruments classified as toys; this requirement applies regardless of the target age group or recommended age labeling.

• Applies to accessible coatings, liquids, gels, and pastes; this requirement applies regardless of the target age group or recommended age labeling.

The GB 6675 standard applies to all toys—defined as any product or material designed or intended for play by children under 14 years of age—and regarding "mechanical and physical properties," the Chinese toy standards are largely similar to those of the EU.

GB6675 primarily covers: mechanical and physical properties, flammability, migration of certain elements, and toy labeling and instructions for use.

II.Testing Process

1. Determine the product testing items;
2. Complete the Dezewei testing application form and confirm the testing standards;
3. Sample shipment and receipt: The applicant arranges for the shipment of samples;
4. Product testing: 3–5 working days (expedited service available);
5. Upon successful testing, the report is issued.
