RoHS Test Report for Electronic Components in China
RoHS testing for electronic components (such as circuit boards, connectors, power adapters, capacitors, resistors, cables, etc.) is one of the compliance requirements for products entering the Chinese market.
I. Controlled Substances and Limits
| Substance | Limit (mass fraction)
| Lead (Pb) | ≤ 0.1%
| Mercury (Hg) | ≤ 0.1%
| Cadmium (Cd) | ≤ 0.01%
| Hexavalent Chromium (Cr6+) | ≤ 0.1%
| Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBBs) | ≤ 0.1%
| Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDEs) | ≤ 0.1%
II. Main Testing Standards
GB/T 39560 series (equivalent to IEC 62321)
Older standards refer to GB/T 26125, SJ/T 11365
III. Testing Procedure
1. Determine the test object: Clarify the type and material of the component (e.g., plastic, metal, solder, coating, etc.)
2. Disassemble the sample: Take samples for testing according to different materials
3. Laboratory Testing: XRF initial screening + chemical analysis for precise quantification
4. Report Issuance: Third-party testing report with CMA/CNAS accreditation
IV. Required Documents for Application
Product Specification Sheet, Bill of Materials (BOM)
Material Declaration (Crucial)
Samples (Several copies recommended)
Application Form
V. Report Validity and Fees
Reports are generally valid for 1-2 years (depending on buyer/platform requirements)
Fee Range: Single component: 500-2000 RMB; Complete unit with multiple BOM breakdowns: 3000-10000 RMB+
Notes
Special attention should be paid to cadmium and lead in colored plastic parts (especially red, yellow, and orange).
Lead and hexavalent chromium should be tested in solder and plating.
PBB/PBDE should be carefully monitored in flame-retardant plastic parts.
China RoHS currently relies mainly on self-declaration, but third-party reports are still required for B2B procurement (such as large clients like Huawei and Haier).
