Steps for Obtaining a China RoHS Test Report for Refrigerators
I. Application Process
Step 1: Confirm Product Suitability
Refrigerators are products listed in the China RoHS Compliance Management Catalogue and require hazardous substance testing and the affixing of the conformity mark (e-mark).
Step 2: Select a Testing Agency
You must select a third-party testing agency with CMA accreditation (China Metrology Accreditation) (e.g., Dezewei Testing CNAS Registration No.: L8083). Priority will be given to:
Experience in RoHS testing of electrical and electronic products
Ability to issue nationally recognized test reports
Reports that are credible to market regulators
Step 3: Prepare Submission Documents
Product Manual
BOM (Bill of Materials)
Material Information for Key Components
Samples (usually 1-2 complete units or key components)
Step 4: Laboratory Testing
Core Testing Items (6 items):
| Substance | Limit
| Lead (Pb) | ≤0.1%
| Cadmium (Cd) | ≤0.01%
| Mercury (Hg) | ≤0.1%
| Hexavalent Chromium (Cr⁶⁺) | ≤0.1%
| Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBBs) | ≤0.1%
| Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDEs) | ≤0.1%
Testing Cycle: Approximately 5-7 business days (expedited service can be shortened to 3-5 days)
Step 5: Report Issuance and Labeling
Obtain a test report stamped by CMA.
Affix the "e" compliance mark to the product or packaging.
Establish a management system for the restricted use of hazardous substances.
II. Key Precautions
1. Combined Testing of Whole Unit and Components: Refrigerators have complex structures, requiring coverage of compressors, circuit boards, thermostats, plastic parts, etc. It is recommended to use a method of "dissecting and testing homogeneous materials of the whole unit + focusing on key components."
2. Testing Unit Division: Submit samples for testing according to material and component classification (metal, plastic, solder, coating, circuit board, etc.).
3. Report Validity: It is recommended to retest every 1-2 years, or retest when the supply chain changes.
4. National Spot Check Risk: The State Administration for Market Regulation conducts spot checks annually; failure to report or failure to meet standards will result in penalties.
5. Difference from EU RoHS: China RoHS adopts the "compliance management" model (conformity assessment method), and companies can choose self-declaration + test report or certification + test report.
