What is the German LFGB certification? German food-grade exposure test

Date:2023-01-13 10:41:23 Classification :【question】 Visits:1028

LFGB certification is believed to be unknown to many people, because this certification is usually considered to be used for testing food contact materials. If you touch food every day, if your tableware has a knife and fork mark, it means that the product has passed the German food grade standard and meets the regulatory requirements. The product does not contain toxic substances harmful to human body. So what are the certification scope of LFGB?

In September 2005, the new German law on food and dietary products LFGB replaced the law on food and daily necessities LMBG (Lebensmittel-undFuttermitel gesetzbuches). It is also known as the "Law on the Administration of Food, Tobacco Products, Cosmetics and Other Daily Necessities", which is an important basic legal document in the field of food hygiene management in Germany, and is the guideline and core for the formulation of other special food hygiene laws and regulations. However, it has also been revised in recent years, mainly to match European standards. The regulations have made general and basic provisions on all aspects of German food, and all food on the German market and all food-related daily necessities must comply with the above basic provisions.

What content does the LFGB test project generally include

1. Initial inspection of samples and materials;

2. Sensory evaluation of smell and taste transfer;

3. Plastic samples: test of transferable components and test of extractable heavy metals;

4. Metal: test of composition and extractable heavy metals;

5. Silicone resin: test of transferable or volatile organic compounds;

6. Special materials: chemical hazards shall be inspected according to the German Chemical Law.

Laws and regulations, including other test items, include:

1. Azo dyes are used for testing textiles, leather, polyester and other commodities;

2. Detection of harmful chemical components and heavy metals in cosmetics;

3. The harmful components of tobacco in the test.

How long is the LFGB test valid?

LFGB test regulations do not specify the validity period, so there is no limit to the validity period of LFGB test in the absence of special circumstances.
