3D Printing Toys Amazon CPC Test Report Process

Date:2025-07-07 10:11:26 Classification :【question】 Visits:370
The standard process and key considerations for applying for Amazon CPC test reports for 3D printed toys are integrated from the latest industry practices and official requirements:

I. Core process steps

1. Determine the test standards

- Mandatory test items:

- ASTM F963-17 (physical/mechanical properties of toys, flammability, heavy metal migration)

- CPSIA (lead content ≤100ppm, 6 phthalates ≤0.1%)

- Small parts warning (applicable to products aged 3-6, choking risk must be marked on the packaging)

- Additional items: If electronic components are included, FCC certification (electromagnetic compatibility) must be supplemented.

2. Choose a CPSC-approved laboratory

- The laboratory must have CPSC qualifications (such as CNAS accreditation);

- Number of samples provided: usually 2-3 complete finished products (including all accessories).

3. Sample delivery and testing

- Focus on testing 3D printing materials:

- Phthalates (common in PLA/PETG materials)

- Structural strength test (to prevent breakage and small parts);

- Cycle: Normally 5-7 working days, complex structures or materials may take longer.

4. Prepare CPC certificate

- Issued by the manufacturer or importer (seller), the laboratory can assist in drafting;

- The certificate must include:

- Product production date/location (accurate to the city)

- Name and contact information of the testing agency

- Reference test standard number (such as ASTM F963-17 §4.25).

5. Submit to Amazon for review

- The backend needs to upload simultaneously:

- CPC certificate (PDF)

- Complete test report (including laboratory stamp)

- Physical product picture (showing warning label).

6. Maintain the validity of the certificate

- Retesting is required for material changes or annual production updates;

- Periodic testing is required at least once a year (when production is continuous).

2. Special considerations for 3D printed toys

1. Material risks

- Resin materials require additional testing for bisphenol A (BPA) and formaldehyde release;

- Multi-color printing requires separate testing (different pigment chemical composition categories are charged).

2. Structural design compliance

- Avoid detachable small parts (such as splicing parts <3cm) to prevent children from swallowing;

- Sharp edges need to be chamfered (in accordance with ASTM F963 mechanical properties).

3. Labels and packaging

- The outer box needs to be printed with the applicable age (such as "Not for children under 3 years") and the tracking label (batch number/manufacturer information).
