Guidelines for Handling GB6675 Testing and Certification Reports for Toy Robots in China

1、 Scope of application

Toy robots are clearly within the control scope of GB6675. Toy robots usually have electric drive, remote control or programming functions, integrated mechanical and physical structures, electronic components and possible functional accessories, and require comprehensive safety testing in accordance with GB6675 standards. Both domestic market sales and imported toy robot products to China must meet the mandatory standard requirements.

2、 Handling process

Step 1: Confirm the product category and testing scope

Toy robots may involve multiple requirements of GB6675 depending on their functions. It is necessary to clarify whether the product is a static toy robot, electric robot, remote control robot, or programming education robot to determine the specific combination of testing items.

Step 2: Prepare samples and application materials

Provide complete samples of toy robots (usually 2-3 units), and prepare technical support documents such as product manuals, technical drawings, bill of materials (BOM), circuit schematics, etc. If there are already obtained certification certificates or test reports, they can also be provided together to accelerate the audit process.

Step 3: Send for inspection and testing

Send the samples to a third-party testing institution with CMA/CNAS qualifications (Dezewei Testing CNAS registration number: L8083), and the testing institution will conduct item testing on the products according to GB6675.1-4 standards.

Step 4: Issue a testing report

After the testing is completed, the testing agency issues a formal GB6675 testing report. If the product belongs to the toy category within the scope of CCC certification catalog (such as electric toys), it is also necessary to apply for a mandatory CCC certificate from the certification agency.

3、 Main testing items

|Test project | Standard basis | Scope of application

|Mechanical and physical properties | GB 6675.2 | Structural safety, edge tips, protrusions, small parts, strength testing, etc

|Flammability Performance | GB 6675.3 | Material Burning Rate, Flame Spread, etc

|Chemical Safety | GB 6675.4 | Migratory Elements (Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, Chromium, Arsenic, Selenium, Antimony, Barium)

|Electrical Safety | GB 6675.1 Appendix | Battery Safety, Charging Protection, Electrical Insulation, etc

4、 Key testing points

Due to the integration of electronic and electrical functions, toy robots require special attention to the following aspects during testing:

1. Small parts testing: Ensure that children under 3 years old do not have the risk of suffocation due to accidentally swallowing small parts

2. Touchable edges and tips: Metal shells, joint connections, etc. require sharp edge and sharp tip detection

3. Battery compartment safety: The battery compartment should be designed reasonably to prevent children from easily opening it. Incorrect installation of battery polarity should not cause safety hazards

4. Electrical heating: During long-term operation, the temperature of the motor, circuit board, and other parts should not exceed the standard limit to avoid the risk of burns

5. Rope safety: Toy robots with connecting ropes need to test the length of the rope to prevent danger caused by entanglement around children's necks

5、 List of required documents

1. Product manual and user manual

2. Technical specifications for toy robots

3. Electrical schematic diagram, PCB wiring diagram

4. Bill of Materials (BOM) and information on key raw material suppliers

5. Samples (2-3 complete machines, special components provided according to institutional requirements)

6. Testing Application Form

7. Recommended age identification for application

6、 Cycle and Cost Reference

|Project | Reference Information

|Testing cycle | 5-7 working days (depending on the complexity of the product)

|Testing fee | 1000-2000 yuan (priced based on functional complexity)

|CCC certification fee | certification fee+testing fee+factory inspection fee, determined according to product type

7、 Precautions

1. Function determines project: Toy robots with sound and light emission may require additional testing items such as sound pressure and light intensity

2. Accurate age labeling: The product manual and packaging should indicate the applicable age range for children, and it is recommended to keep it consistent with the actual testing scope

3. Special attention should be paid to detachable components: The detachable components of toy robots (such as weapon accessories and decorative parts) need to undergo separate small part testing

4. Choose a reputable institution: It is essential to choose a testing laboratory that has obtained CMA/CNAS qualifications to ensure the legal validity of the report

5. Export market expansion: If exporting to the EU or US markets at the same time, a one-stop testing solution can be considered to simultaneously complete EN71 or ASTM F963 testing.
