The standard process and key points for RoHS testing of stamp printers for hazardous substances in electronic products are organized based on the latest EU Directive (RoHS 2.0):
I. Core Testing Process
1. Application and Quote
- Complete the testing application form (including a list of product materials and color information).
- The certification body will assess the fee based on the number of materials and color complexity (e.g., a single material costs approximately 1,000 yuan; testing multiple materials in a package can reduce costs).
2. Sample Preparation and Disassembly
- Provide two to three complete stamp printer samples.
- Key Step: The laboratory will disassemble the product into its smallest homogeneous unit (e.g., plastic housing, circuit board, ink cartridge, etc.) to ensure that each material is tested independently.
3. Laboratory Testing
- Test Items:
- Metal Components (4 items): Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Mercury (Hg), Hexavalent Chromium (Cr⁶⁺)
- Non-Metal Components (6 items by default): The above 4 items + Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB) and Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE)
- Extended Items (if required): Phthalates (DBP/BBP/DEHP/DIBP), among 10 other items.
- Method: XRF screening → Chemical digestion → Spectroscopic/Chromatographic quantification.
4. Reporting and Certification
- After passing the test, a bilingual report in Chinese and English will be issued within 5-7 business days.
- If unqualified, rectification (e.g., replacement of materials exceeding the standard) and re-inspection are required.
II. Required Documents
- Product Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Circuit Schematic and PCB Layout
- User Manual
- RoHS Compliance Declaration from suppliers of key components.
III. Cost and Turnaround
- Cost:
- Basic Package (10 items): 1,000 RMB per material;
- Turnaround: Normally 5-7 days, with additional charges for urgent requests.
