According to the US FDA's regulatory requirements for food contact materials (FCS), cutting boards, as kitchen utensils that come into direct contact with food, are subject to the following tests:
I. Applicable testing standards

II. List of mandatory inspection items
1. Chemical safety test
- Migration test:
- Aqueous food simulant (deionized water, 100℃×30min)
- Acidic food simulant (3% acetic acid, 70℃×2h)
- Alcoholic food simulant (8% ethanol, 40℃×24h)
- Grease simulant (n-heptane, reflux temperature×2h)
- Heavy metal test: Total limit of 8 elements including lead, cadmium, mercury, and chromium (lead ≤0.1ppm)
- Formaldehyde release: Formaldehyde migration of bamboo cutting board adhesive ≤15ppm
2. Physical property test
- Abrasion resistance: Knife cutting test (no visible debris falling off after 500 cycles)
- Heat resistance: No deformation or cracking after being placed in a 70℃ oven for 1 hour
3. Special treatment additional items
- Antibacterial coating: Silver ion migration (≤0.05mg/kg) and antibacterial agent residues need to be tested
- Dyed bamboo board: Azo dye test (24 banned aromatic amines must not be detected)
III. Test cycle
Test cycle: 5-7 working days
